WESTAR works with state, local and tribal air agencies, as well as federal land managers and EPA, across the 15 western states of the US. WESTAR brings its members together to discuss and collaborate on solutions to air quality issues in the western US. We use a variety of data and tools to improve emissions inventory, modeling and air quality forecasting so that air agencies can make the best-informed decisions possible. Satellite data and tools from NASA are key to analyzing air quality issues, improving western inventories, improving forecasting, analyzing air pollution events and providing visual data for communicating with the public.
